Sanaya Irani – Profile

Sanaya Irani is an Indian Television actress and model. She was born on 17th September, 1983 in Mumbai. Sanaya gained recognition for her roles in television series like Miley Jab Hum Tum, Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi and Left Right Left. She became popular after she essayed the role of the bubbly Sameera Shroff in Left Right Left which gave her a lot of fame. Currently Sanaya Irani plays the lead role of Khushi Kumari Gupta in the romantic drama Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon opposite the handsome and talented Barun Sobti which is aired on STAR PLUS. Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon is produced by Four Lion Films.

Sanaya Irani – Early Life

Sanaya Irani was born and brought up in Mumbai. She did her schooling in Ooty. Sanaya was pursuing her Bcom and wanted to do an MBA when acting happened. She entered the glamour world by doing advertisements and modelling according to her mother’s advice. Sanaya’s mother encouraged her to venture into modelling and acting. Sanaya took a break from studies for a year and ventured into modelling. Later auditions and acting happened and she enjoyed it. “I liked acting but I was not sure how good I was. I had also not enrolled myself into any acting course because I wanted to learn the art my way,” says Sanaya Irani. Her first portfolio was done by veteran actor Boman Irani, who was a photographer then.

Sanaya ventured into acting with Jagjit Singh’s song Tumko Dekha To Yeh. Other than the music video with Jagjit Singh, Sanaya Irani was the face of various advertisements like EverYuth Fruit Face Wash, Fairglow, Dabur Honey, Reliance, Balmonte and Slice Mangola.

After her stint with modeling she entered acting, where a notable role was as Kajol’s friend in the movie Fanaa (2006).

Sanaya Irani – Foray into Television

Sanaya Irani made her television debut with SAB TV’s popular show Left Right Left as Sameera Shroff, where she shared screen space with Arjun Bijlani. Later, Sanaya also made an appearance in Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi on NDTV Imagine where she played a glamorous role. Then Miley Jab Hum Tum came her way and Sanaya gained immense popularity by portraying the role of Gunjan opposite Mohit Sehgal.

After Miley Jab Hum Tum, Sanaya was one of the contestants on the show Meethi Choori No. 1. She also co-hosted the dance show Zara Nachke Dikha season 2 on STAR One.

Currently, Sanaya Irani essays the role of Khushi Kumari Gupta in STAR PLUS’s romantic drama Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon opposite heart throb Barun Sobti. Due to the sizzling chemistry they share on-screen, Sanaya and Barun have been rated as the hottest Television couple ever to grace the Television screen.

Sanaya has also played a small role in the film [Ladies vs Ricky Bahl] (2011).

Sanaya Irani – Personal Life

Sanaya Irani is dating her Miley Jab Hum Tum co-star Mohit Sehgal who is from Delhi. They have been dating since 2010 and plan on getting married, but not soon. She is also very close to her co-star from Left Right Left and Miley Jab Hum Tum – Arjun Bijlani.
